Everest Base Camp Trek Detail Itineraries
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

On the first day of your journey, you will land in Kathmandu at Tribhuvan International Airport. One of our staff will greet you outside the airport terminal with a flower garland. Afterward, you’ll be transferred to your pre-arranged hotel accommodation.
Depending on your arrival time, you can relax at the hotel or explore Kathmandu's highlights. You can then meet with your guide to discuss the trip to Everest Base Camp. You will stay at a hotel in Kathmandu for the overnight.
Day 02: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla and Trek to Phakding

In the busy months of spring (Mar-May) and autumn (Sep-Nov), your journey to Lukla begins very early. You'll wake up when it's still dark, around 1:30 or 2:30 in the morning.
A special hiace will take you on a long ride to Manthali airport, which takes about 5 or 6 hours. From there, you'll hop on a short 20-minute flight to Lukla.
During the quieter months of winter (Dec-Feb) and monsoon (Jun-Jul), things are a bit different. You get to sleep in a little longer, waking up around 5 or 6 in the morning.
Our friendly team will help you get to the airport in Kathmandu. From there, you'll enjoy a slightly longer 35-minute flight straight to Lukla.
Remember, the airlines decide which airport to use based on how many travelers there are. So, your adventure might start with a long drive or a quick trip to the local airport.
Either way, you'll soon be flying high over Nepal's beautiful landscape, ready to begin your exciting journey in the mountains.
Day 03: Trek to Namche Bazaar

As the sun rises, the trek to Namche Bazaar begins. The trail today is steep but with magnificent scenery that is sure to enchant you.
Today you'll come across Monjo through which you'll enter one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites, Sagarmatha National Park. The national park shelters diverse flora and fauna along with some endangered species.
Soon after, the trail leads you through villages like Jorsale, and hence you'll reach Namche Bazaar. The place is popularly known as the gateway to Everest.
When you arrive at Namche, you can still do some last-minute shopping. This is because Namche is a bustling town in the Everest region. You can find lots of shops, cafes, and places to stay. You can even find banks and ATMs if you need them.
Day 04: Acclimatization Day in Namche

This day is scheduled as an acclimatization day. It is all about getting used to the increasing elevation. This is why you'll stay in this lively town exploring its surroundings.
During the day, trekkers can indulge in short hikes like visiting the Hillary School or exploring a traditional Sherpa village. If the time allows, one can even see the Syangboche Airport.
More often, this acclimatization day includes a visit to Everest View Hotel which is the world's highest-placed hotel. This hotel presents you the panoramic views of the mountains including Mount Everest itself while enjoying a delicious meal.
By the end of the day, you'll return to your teahouse in Namche.
Day 05: Trek to Tengboche

Today you will be hiking for around five hours, starting with a gradual ascent through quiet forests of tall pines. You should be familiar with severe wind and rough terrain by now. The path crosses the Dudh Koshi River and travels through dense trees that gradually become less thick.
To get a breathtaking view of the majestic peaks of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Everest, you will have to ascend a number of ridges. After a brief descent and suspension bridge crossing, the route will provide amazing views of the mountains.
If you're lucky, the Himalayan Thar, musk deer, and colorful pheasants will amaze you with their variety. After some time, you reach Phunki Thenga, a tiny village surrounded by an alpine forest that has a few teahouses.
You get ready for a more strenuous ascent through pine forests after lunch at Phunki Thenga. Also, you will have the opportunity to visit the Tengboche monastery and watch the monks perform a holy ceremony.
Day 06: Trek to Dingboche

Today's early morning light offers you the ideal opportunity to capture beautiful pictures of the surrounding area. The monastery is even more attractive with a backdrop of mountains. You'll start to realize that the Himalayas of Nepal have magnificent peaks that appear to get bigger as you go.
You start the day with a hike to Tengboche through Imja Khola. Following the banks of the Dudh Koshi, you will walk beneath the imposing snowy summits of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Thamserku.
You can enjoy a stunning view of the Himalayas and Pangboche Monastery from the walking trail above Pangboche. As you reach the Lobuche River, the terrain becomes wider and less steep as you enter the Imja Valley.
After that, it falls to the Lobuche River and then climbs sharply to Dingboche. The fields in this beautiful population are surrounded by stone walls, which protect the high-altitude agriculture from wind and grazing animals. Surrounded by prayer flags and chortens, it's a lovely, windswept village.
Day 07: Acclimatization Day in Dingboche

Nangkartshang Peak (5,083m)

Here comes the second time of acclimatization on this Everest trail. This day aids in recovering and adapting to the higher elevation.
On this day, you'll acclimate to the surrounding elevation by taking a short climb to Nangkartshang Peak (5,083m). However, the ascent to the peak is quite strenuous yet worthwhile.
You can see Himalayan giants like Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, Lobuche, and more from the summit of the Nangkartshang Peak. After having a wonderful time, you'll descend back to Dingboche for an overnight stay.
Day 08: Trek to Lobuche

It's time to leave for Lobuche with an uphill hike to Thukla. Here onwards, the astonishing views of Taboche and Cholatse greet you with their heavenly beauty.
As the trek advances, you'll come across the stone memorial at Thukla Pass along with the Khumbu Glacier's lateral moraine. These stone memorials symbolize the remembrance of deceased climbers.
After a brief hike, you'll finally reach Lobuche. From here, you can witness the gorgeous mountains of Nuptse, Lobuche, and Pumori.
Day 09: Trek to Everest Base Camp and Return to Gorak Shep

The day has finally arrived. On this day, you'll head for the Everest Base Camp. However, before reaching the base camp, the trek today begins with an ascend to Gorak Shep. On reaching Gorak Shep, you can keep all your baggage and belongings here.
Moving forward, you'll follow the trails to the Everest Base Camp. Before reaching the base camp, you'll be amazed by the amazing beauty of the Khumbu Glacier.
After spending some time in the base camp, you'll follow the route back to Gorak Shep for an overnight stay. Remember that we do not stay in the Everest Base Camp for the overnight.
Day 10: Morning Hike to Kala Patthar and Descend to Pheriche

Today, the trek starts pretty early making your way up to Kala Patthar. It is the highest elevation of the Everest Base Camp Trek. Though the morning hike to Kala Patthar is short but it is challenging due to the steep and rough terrain.
Once you reach the vantage point, you'll witness the sunrise view of the mountain ranges which is truly mesmerizing. This is the only time throughout your journey to see Mount Everest up close.
After a short interval, you'll hike back to Gorak Shep and enjoy breakfast. Then the walk continues down to Pheriche which is a tiny settlement. Here you can find a clinic operated by the Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA).
Day 11: Trek to Namche

On this day, you'll travel back to Namche Bazaar after a hearty breakfast. The trail follows the same route passing through Tengboche village and reaching Pangboche village. Hereafter, you'll traverse a suspension bridge and eventually arrive at Namche.
Day 12: Trek to Lukla
7 hrs
Lukla (2,840m/9,318 ft)

It's the last day of the trekking journey. The trek continues back to Lukla via the same route. Like the previous trek, you'll descend through the villages such as Jorsale, Monjo, and more and thus reach Lukla.
Day 13: Fly Back to Kathmandu

The magnificent journey to the Everest Base Camp Trek ends with a scenic flight back to Kathmandu. After having breakfast, you'll board a flight at Lukla airport. However, depending upon the time of your visit, you might fly to Manthali Airport followed by a drive back to Kathmandu.
After landing at the airport in Kathmandu, one of our representatives will escort you back to the hotel for the overnight.
Day 14: The Final Farewell

It’s time to praise your Himalayan memories and head back to your home country. Based on the time of your flight, our staff will transfer you to the airport 3 hours early.
